Steve joined Chambers in 2023 following successful completion of pupillage with Mr Timothy Wong, Mr Tony Li (now Mr Tony Li, SC), Mr Eugene Yim and Mr Steven Kwan, and voluntary extended pupillage with Mr Lewis Law and Mr Hectar Pun, SC. He was also marshal to His Honour Judge Clement Lee before commencing pupillage.
Prior to joining the Bar, Steve acquired exposure working in think tanks, educational and public service sectors, both locally and internationally. Steve was called to the Bar in 2022 and has since then been developing a practice in both criminal and civil law with focuses on criminal defence. He has appeared as an advocate (either in his own right or as a led junior) in the High Court, the District Court, and the Magistrates’ Court.
In the criminal span, Steve has experience in handling ICAC matters, dishonesty crimes, drugs offences, traffic offence, gambling, immigration, national security and public order matters. On the civil side, he also has experience in cases involving mortgage actions, bankruptcy petition, administrative appeal, adverse possession, matrimonial and children disputes, land and property claims and civil fraud claims. His practice comprises both litigation and advisory work.
Steve is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien (Minnan). He accepts instructions in all areas of practice.
