Claris has represented personal and corporate clients in a wide range of civil, criminal and disciplinary cases and has appeared as counsel and advocate in her own right in different levels of Court and Tribunal. In particular, she has a busy matrimonial practice. She is a HKMAAL Accredited General Mediator and an Associate of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators.
As for non-contentious matters, Claris has rendered legal opinions for IPO projects. She has also advised on company, construction, employment, import and export, inland revenue, immigration, MPF, personal data and privacy, gaming, property (both real property/land and intellectual property), competition law, pharmaceutical, food and health and safety related matters.
Claris is also a part-time Lecturer for the PCLL programme at the University of Hong Kong. She has also taught at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and is a Visiting Lecturer of the Hong Kong Legal Training Institute. She has conducted in house trainings to those in the Hong Kong Immigration Department, Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department and business professionals. She has also been invited as a Guest Lecturer of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Claris is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English and is experienced in dealing with local, PRC and international clients.
Claris has served as Deputy Adjudicator at the Small Claims Tribunal and also as Deputy Magistrate at Eastern Magistrates’ Court.
