Cherry joined Chambers in 2022 after serving her pupillage with Mr. Erik Shum, Mr. Jeffrey Tam, Ms. Olivia Tsang and Mr. Joe Chan.
In the criminal practice, Cherry has experience ranging from petty crime and immigration offences to public-order-events related crime. She has appeared as an advocate in her own right in the District Court and the Magistrates’ Courts.
Cherry is also developing a broad practice in the civil world, with experience in employees’ compensation and personal injury claims, death inquests, non-refoulement claims, commercial disputes, defamation, land disputes, administrative appeals and injunction matters.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Cherry has paid close attention to matters concerning gender, sexual harassment and violence. To this end, she has been providing pro-bono legal advice, both criminal and civil, as a legal clinic lawyer for RainLily under the Association concerning Sexual Violence Against Women since the start of her practice till the present.
Cherry is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is capable of drafting, providing written submissions and conducting hearings in both English and Chinese. She accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work.
