Alan maintains an active criminal practice, regularly handles matters spanning general criminal offenses and white-collar crime. He is frequently instructed in cases involving commercial fraud, bribery, and conspiracy to defraud, including acting as junior counsel in high-profile trials involving major international financial institutions. In addition to trial advocacy, his criminal practice encompasses handling appeals in the High Court—with experience in quashing convictions—and acting as Counsel-on-Fiat for the HKSAR, providing him with a well-rounded perspective on criminal proceedings

Successfully defended the Managing Director of JPMorgan Securities (Asia-Pacific) Ltd against bribery charges under the ICAC ‘Sons & Daughters’ program investigation relating to IPO hiring practices (led by Mr. Joseph Tse S.C.).
